Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures today. It is a very effective method for reducing wrinkles. The procedure can be done at a routine visit or during a brief break from work and requires no anesthesia or recovery. Laser Services |back to top|
Many people seek laser procedure to enhance their appearance because they desire skin that is smooth and blemish-free. Some seek to improve skin tone and coloring all in an effort to look younger or boost their self-esteem. Whatever the reason there are laser procedures available at Heartland Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center to achieve younger-looking skin on face, arms, legs and other parts of the body . The GentleLase Laser is available for hair removal. This device produces an intense but gentle burst of light that fragments and removes the hair with selective destruction while not harming the surrounding tissue. Because of the different growth phases of hair, 4-6 treatments are usually required. The V-Beam is indicated for the treatment of warts, port wine stains, hemangiomas, rosacea, facial telangiectasias, and the reduction of redness in scars and stretchmarks. The Sciton Microlaser Peel is an intra-dermal laserpeel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected: wrinkles, scars, laxity, or pigmentation problems. This device peels to a depth between microdermabrasion and deep chemical peels with a healing process that takes approximately 2-5 days. Patients can expect smoother, healthier, and more vibrant skin after a Sciton Microlaser Peel.
Chemical Peels |back to top|
Chemical peels use a chemical solution to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin by removing its damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes, fine wrinkles, and age spots. Chemical peels are ideal for individuals who want to reduce the effects of aging through a long-term program of peels and appropriate skin care products or a one time deeper peel followed by appropriate skin care products.
Hair Removal |back to top|
Photoepilation technology offers a gentle, non-invasive, long lasting solution to unwanted hair on the face, back, legs, bikini line, or any other body area. Highly controlled flashes of light are selectively absorbed by hair follicles. The absorbed light heats the hair and damages or destroys the follicle’s ability to regrow hair. Treatment can be customized according to the patient’s hair color, texture and body location. This procedure has been effective on all skin types.
Micodermabrasion |back to top|
A series of microdermabrasion treatments can be effectively used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, age spots, and scars resulting from acne, surgery or even chicken pox. This procedure can also enhance various laser treatments. Medical microdermabrasion is an intense exfoliation process that rejuvenates the skin by utilizing ultra-fine crystals to remove the upper layer of the epidermis. The process exfoliates the skin, stimulating new collagen production that will result in firmer, more youthful looking skin over time.
Wrinkle Correction |back to top|
Fillers may be used to restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles, folds, and depressions in the skin, and/or scarring. Injections are made directly into the skin under the wrinkle or scar with a very fine needle thus lifting up and smoothing out the wrinkle or scar. Results can be seen immediately but are not permanent and touch-up injects are needed.
Collagen Fillers |back to top|
Collagen is a natural protein that gives support and structure to skin, bones, ligaments, and other body parts. Depending on the type of collagen used, allergy testing may be required. Touch-up injections may be needed every 3 to 12 months. For some, however, collagen injections can stimulate the body’s own production of collagen, lengthening the time necessary between follow-up injections.
Restylane |back to top|
Restylane is a safe and natural filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid which already exists in the human body. Because it is non-animal-based and fully bio-compatible, allergy testing is not required. Results last for approximately six months.
IPL Photo Facial Rejuvenation |back to top|
